Musical tribute to Rick Scheuer from his son

Here's a truly moving memory of our brilliant and talented classmate, Rick Scheuer, who lost his life way too young in 1996. His oldest son Ben became a writer and musician, and his solo musical, The Lion, about his relationship with his Dad was produced in New York last year to rave reviews, won the 2015 Drama Desk Award, and has been touring the country. Here's the link to an animated music video of one of the songs from the show, Cookie Tin Banjo.

Lost in the Fifties

We were kids during the innocent fifties—remember Mickey Mouse Club, hula hoops, cherry cokes, Father Knows Best, playing outside until dark, roller skates and ringalevio, Davy Crockett and the Lone Ranger....? Life was simple then, right?  Maybe not always. Take a look at this video, Lost in the Fifties, to remember the good times--and reflect on times that weren’t so innocent.

Lost in the Sixties: Winds of Change

We Didn't Start the Fire

Our Wall

Every year, from 1971 to the present, we have taken a family photo. Our wall of photos has grown from our 1st child to our grandchildren's 16th, 14th and 11th years! In each home we've lived in, we have mounted our family's picture history either in a stairwell or corridor or - in this case - the side of the family room. It has been an amazing journey, creating these new people, helping them grow, and watching them as adults with children of their own. They've done pretty good!  It wasn't easy, but it was worth it.
